WANTED: Bradley Kincaid on Gennett 6989 "When the Work's All Done This Fall"

Bradley Kincaid's marker on the Starr-Gennett Foundation's Walk of Fame.

Do I have any followers that are 78 collectors? I am currently working on compiling and restoring Bradley Kincaid's 78 discography from different sources (mainly re-equalizing the tracks from the JSP box set along with restoring some discs from my own collection) and it's proven pretty difficult as he recorded some songs several times and it's difficult to tell which is which. But by listening closely I've been able to differentiate most.
It seems the only disc I am lacking at this point is his earliest recording of "When the Work's All Done This Fall" for Gennett in 1927. It was only released once on Gennett 6989. If anybody has this disc and has the ability to either transfer it in a lossless format and send it to me or is willing to name a price in order to part with it, please contact me at glenne3@yahoo.com !

Thank y'all a whole lot.

Bradley Kincaid ~ Family Gospel Album (1974)

Although it claims it's in stereo on the cover, it's actually electronically reprocessed stereo. I re-channeled it to the original mono.

Bradley Kincaid ~ The Kentucky Mountain Boy (1973)

Please note: Track 8 has a skip in it due to a pressing defect. I have two copies of this, both in mint condition, and the needle got stuck on both in the exact same spot. They did this on all the equipment I have. I trimmed out the "thump" noise, but the skip is still noticeable.

Various Artists ~ Banjo Pickin' Girl: Women In Early Country Music, Volume 1 (1978)

Very nice compilation focusing on female country artists from the 20's and 30's. Two or three of these tracks were originally unissued which is always very cool to see with material this old since usually most of the sides that were never issued end up lost or destroyed.

Dwight Butcher ~ Journey In Country Song, Album Number One (1968)

Thank you to "Countryhank" for this one. Although this isn't my rip or restoration, I re-channeled the tracks to the original mono and re-equalized each one to get this up to my standards for personal listening. Very rare album. Although it's titled "Album Number One" it doesn't appear Bluebonnet put out any albums on him other than this one.

Bradley Kincaid ~ Mountain Ballads and Old Time Songs, Album Number Seven (1987)

The remaining volumes (8-13) were released only as cassette. Thank you to all who sent me the MP3 rips floating around of the cassettes with the exception of volume 10. I really enjoyed listening to them, but the noise reduction done on them butchered the already very poor sound quality. If anyone has ANY of these cassettes and a USB tape deck and can send me a high quality, untouched transfer or would be willing to name a price to part with them, PLEASE contact me at glenne3@yahoo.com !

Bradley Kincaid ~ Mountain Ballads and Old Time Songs, Album Number One (1963)

Please note that with this series of albums as well as those by other albums I have on Bluebonnet from a few of my favorite artists that I will be posting, these albums are of varying sound quality even though the copies I have are in excellent shape. This is not due to any restoration that I did, this is more so due to cheap manufacturing and pressing and even more so due to sub-par equipment used in preparing a disc master for vinyl. The quality improves on the later volumes, thankfully, on all their albums. Anyway, these recordings Bradley Kincaid did for them (basically every song in his huge repertoire over a two day period) are some of my favorites. It should also be noted that this particular volume was actually meant to be Album Two and Album Two was supposed to be one, as evident from the catalogue numbers. This was more than likely a mix up during printing. Still looking for hard copies of volumes 8-13 which were only released on cassette in the late 80's so that I can do my own transfer and restoration. The cassettes they released are of even worse quality. The two cassettes I have in my collection from Bluebonnet pretty much sound like the worst bootleg cassettes I've ever heard, but still somewhat salvageable digitally. Anyway, enjoy these next few posts. Bradley Kincaid is my favorite artist right after The Carter Family.

Cecil Gill ~ Tear Drops In the Rain / Say Goodbye - Single (1948)

I usually don't like to post single records like this, but this is one of only two records he made in 1948 aside from his Bluebonnet recordings in the 60's. His fame mainly came from radio.Extremely rare record.

Hank Williams & Audrey Williams ~ Mr. & Mrs. Hank Williams (1966)

Posting this for the handful of solo tracks by Audrey Williams that were surprisingly included on this budget LP compilation. Like I've said, she can't carry a tune in a bucket but silly tracks like "Parakeet Polka" grow on you. The other tracks with Hank (like every single other recording Hank Williams EVER made) have been reissued in various formats at least 30+ times over the years.
