Many thanks for this Glenn. I'm interested when you say "matched volume level for each track". May I ask how do you do this? I did try out an app some years ago that normalized the volumes of mp3 tracks, it did this but kinda sucked the guts out of each track, they sounded flat after. So I've been looking for a better method since. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteI use the default setting for matching volume on Goldwave. I downloaded the album in FLAC and then converted it to WAV to edit.
DeleteI use >> Goldwave <<. You can optimize/maximize the volume of a song for the left and right channels separately
ReplyDeleteI completely forgot. Thank you for the posts
ReplyDeleteThank you for the scans.
ReplyDeleteThis was the first LP I bought with my own money ... well, with my own record-store gift certificate from a relative, anyway. I was 11 years old and had no particular musical interests apart from Broadway cast recordings, and remember wandering the aisles at Wallachs Music City in Hollywood for much longer than my mother had patience for, finally landing on this LP. Took it home and played it approximately a zillion times, though haven't listened to it since "Meet the Beatles" came out. Appreciate the post!
ReplyDeleteThanks Glenn & Armin for the advice on Goldwave, I do have that software already, so will play around with it.
